As a Manawatu-based car enthusiast I have been a customer of B&H Engine Services since 1991, and over this period of time we have had a number engines rebuilt by them including classic Mini, several Morris Eight motors, and more recently a 1934 twin cam Lagonda Rapier engine.

Throughout my dealings with the team at B&H, capably headed by Graham Miller, I have been impressed with their friendly service and knowledgeable approach to a wide range of often challenging technical problems, to the point where nothing seems too difficult to tackle, and a solution can always be found, even in the face of great adversity.

The standard of workmanship produced has always been A+, their aim being to never cut corners and where possible to make sensible modifications which not only benefit reliability, but also enhance engine performance without visibly sacrificing originality.

Over the years, the premises at B&H have become a hub for local enthusiasts who often call in to discuss their technical restoration needs and to view the progress made on their projects and those of others currently undertaken in the workshop. As such, the business has gradually built up a national and now also an international reputation as a centre of excellence in vintage automotive engineering in an environment where these skills are progressively being lost worldwide.

We are very fortunate indeed to have such a business right here in the Manawatu, and I would wholeheartedly recommend their services to prospective customers.

I have known Graham and Lauren Miller since the 1970’s when Graham and I were the service crew for Tim Gibbes and his ex Works Mk1 Ford Escort 2 litre BDA. It was apparent to me then that Graham had enormous passion and skill for engine rebuilding.
